In November 2001 I (Andreas) started a full restoration of the body sheet metal and part of the engine and cooling system.

It ended up to be a bigger job as I imagined in the beginning, but it paid out.
Everything started that I realized that a green fluid was leaking quite heavily after a short tour and it  looked like the radiator had a whole. Well removing the radiator was a bigger job, due to the fact, that I had to remove the 2 cooling fans and surrounding sheet metal. That was necessary anyway, since most of the part were quite rusted and needed a repaint. The radiator unfortunately needed a full rebuild, means a new core, but looked like new after it. In addition I decided to remove the engine oil penne and replace a the gasket and several other seal, o-rings. This was quite a job due to the little space I had under the car. But it was worth doing, since the oil penne and cooler were covered with a thick old oil mud, which needed an urgent cleaning.

In between all this work I started to remove all the chrome part, front and back lights from the car.
Well, this again was a much bigger job than I though. it's just amazing how much chrome it has.

Around end of November I drove the car the the paint shop. It was close buy and it looked professional. We had decided to paint it in "Dark Blue" an original Jag V12 color, which the guy was capable to mix, based on the original mixture. They did a real nice job, but the bonnet had a bump and I was happy with several areas around the front lights etc. So, I had the bring the car back before Christmas and they repainted the front part, color sanded and polished the entire car. This was a huge difference. Now I was real happy and could start with refitting all the chrome, which was of course more work as removing it. I renewed all rubber sealing including the front and back window and all rubber hoses from the engine cooling system. And that's how my Jag looks now - what a difference.

.... and I had the replace the front wind screen ...little accident - I drove over it.....
