Lake Powell, Utah/Arizona

This summer (2005) we decided to take the longest road trip ever. Not only were eight of us cramped into one small Tahoe, but we had a boat attached to the car so that we could not drive faster. After the great misery, taking 10 minute turns lying down in the back row while the other two would cramp even more, we arrived at Lake Powell. That is one crazy place because even though the weather was completely unpredictable, we lived two days away, and there was barely any civilization, we were compelled to buy property here.  The water skiing was great once we found the perfect spot (it felt like skiing on a blanket/mirror!!). We tried desperately to get the others out of the water, but after seeing his two daughters almost get up and thinking it looked so easy, Uncle Alan would not let go of the rope, even after he fell!
